Take, take, take is Stephen Pihlaja’s blog about the pursuit of happiness. Kept in perpetuity since 2003, it tells the story of an American millennial who leaves the US for Japan as a missionary, only to lose his faith and discover the unhappy impossibility of finding it again. Set in Birmingham in the United Kingdom since 2014, Take, take, take focuses on the inner life of experience, and how the present is just a tracing paper laid on the past. Touching on themes of love, depression, and faith, nothing is truly mundane if you really think about it.
